Analog Film Wedding Photography | Montréal, Quebec

It’s bittersweet to look through these photos from last season in Montreal as we prepare to move our life to Calgary in June - I am so thankful to have spent so much time in such a unique city. Sarah & Ranbir got married at the Montreal courthouse Spring 2022 and we did a glorious sunset photo session all on film to celebrate and commemorate their marriage. Glowing with Spring wedding energy, it was a pleasure to capture their sweet dynamic at such a beautiful and lesser known photo taking location: the lookout walking path at the Pointe St. Charles Observatory.

The Pointe St. Charles Observatory - Kodak Portra 400 120mm film

The 35mm colour photos sandwiching the grainy black and white photo above were taken on my completely manual (except for a little light meter in the viewfinder) Minolta X370 and I am shocked they turned out so well as it’s a junky old camera. Now that I’m spoiled by such an easy 35mm film camera, my Nikon F100 with its LCD screen, I’m glad I learned film on a much slower camera. Colour shots on Kodak Portra 800

It’s simply the sweetest set and one of my first works on film, I can’t wait to share the rest of my work from 2022! Wedding photos taken with analog film have become of my purest joys and I’m looking forwards to shooting more film in 2023 as well - If you’re getting married in 2023 or 2024 and you’re looking for analog film wedding photos because you and your future spouse are rad cool beings - you can contact me here. It’s important to book film wedding photography well in advance as there is a shortage of colour film and I want to reserve film for your wedding as soon as possible.
